Art and gourmet evening in Deià

Art and gourmet evening in Deià

Art & Dine is a culinary "journey" through the Belmond Hotel La Residencia in Deià, where guests are served a multi-course meal at different stages in the house. During the evening, the participants visit the sculpture garden and the artists' studios and enjoy delicatessen in conjunction with art in specially staged locations.

Deià, the art and its artists

Everything began with the English writer Robert Graves, who settled in Deià in 1929. Soon more poets and painters followed to the then sleepy mountain village, rock musicians and bohemians also contributed to the Deià myth in the 60s. The hotel La Resedencia opened in 1984 in the centre of Deià and became the meeting place for artists, stars and celebrities from around the world. More than 800 pictures and objects from around 80 artists are now spread over the hotel's premises. At Art & Dine, guests have the opportunity to approach original artwork in an original way.

Art, music and haute cuisine

In small groups of maximum four people, the evening starts in the sculpture garden next to Joan Miró's work "La Tête". Enjoy a cocktail while exploring the Residenz's art collection, followed by an aperitif at the Sa Tafona Gallery. After looking into the studio of the resident sculptor, guests will enjoy the appetizer alongside a painting titled "Letter from Vincent to Theo". It is the work of Arthur Rhodes, a charismatic and legendary artist in Deià. The main course is staged between easels and works of art in the artist studio of Alan Hydes. Another highlight is the surprise dessert by Guillermo Méndez, chef at the hotel's gourmet El Olivo restaurant. Where the evening ends is not revealed at this point. Only so much to say: For the Digestive you are surrounded by 33 original works by Joan Miró.

Reservations can be made by calling +34 971 63 90 11. The hotel is in a winter break from mid-November to mid-March.
