The furthest area from the centre of the Palma and the airport, both of which are still reached in under 60 minutes, which just shows that on the island of Mallorca, long trips are a distant memory. The north of the island is divided in 2 main areas, 1 further north than the other.
The furthest north are the municipalities of Arta, starting with Colonia de Sant Pere, Son Servera and Capdepera. The town of Arta is situated in the heart of this area and is the most charismatic. Canyamel, with its wonderful golf course and pretty coastline, is also one of the stand out areas. Somewhat South of Cala Ratjada, is the Costa de los Pinos, which is protected both by the surrounding green zones and coastline. All main roads towards Palma were relayed only 5 years ago and now offer great connections to the city. The fact that there are 4 golf courses and various marinas speaks for itself about the potential for non-residents here.
From the Costa de los Pinos to Cala d’Or, the area offers various hotels, with extensive beaches. Between these beaches are some of the stand out properties of the area, the stand out area here without a doubt would be the Northeast countryside where some of the most exquisite fincas are found.
