For pure summer atmosphere and a laid back way of life, the Pollensa-Alcudia bay area is a must. Dramatic mountains protect this beautiful bay, favoured by yachtsmen, bathers and kite surfers, and the whole area is very well connected to Palma and the airport.
The port of Pollensa has its own marina, beach and famous “pine walk”, a wonderful promenade lined by restaurants and bars. The town of Pollensa by contrast is an artists` haven with historical back streets and lively town square, and the famous “Calvary” walk offers stunning views of the area. Alcudia is an old walled town offering sandy beaches and nightlife in the summer. Close to Alcudia is the famed golf course of Alcanada, one of the best on the island, and the exclusive residential area of Mal Pas-Bonaire, right on the edge of natural parkland.
For perhaps the most dramatic views of the island, a trip to Formentor is a must, with beautiful views of coastline and the magical spot of Formentera beach, also close to where some of the most exclusive homes on the island are found.
Pollensa – Formentor
Located northwest of Mallorca, the Pollensa municipality has 16,000 inhabitants and an area of 151 km2. In the town of Pollensa, there is a lot of artistic activity, with its numerous galleries, exhibitions and weekly market. With its improved roads and the new motorway to Sa Pobla, the municipality is only 25 minutes away from Palma. La Vall den March, the valley between Lluc and Pollensa, is one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean.
The port of Pollensa is famed for its “Pine Walk”, a beautiful promenade along the sea front which enjoys stunning views of the bay, mountains and pretty beach. There are many idyllic coffee bars and the port also has its own marina, rcnpp.es
Cala San Vicente and Formentor, also have their own beauty in with their pines and steep rocks dramatically hanging over the sea. Several illustrious tourists have already been welcomed here, including Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie and Peter Ustinov, and today it continues to be a very peaceful and highly sought after tourist destination.
The Golf Club of Pollensa www.pollensagolf.com enjoys panoramic sea views from its terrace to the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia, and near to the golf club is the historic luxury Hotel Son Brull, www.sonbrull.com/en, which together with the Hotel Formentor, www.barcelo.com/barcelohotels/en, built in 1928 by the Argentine Adan Diehl, are the most representative of the municipality.
On the road to Formentor, at its highest point of 400 meters, there is a viewpoint that offers panoramic views over the north coast, the bays of Pollensa and Alcudia and much of the plain de Mallorca. The Formentor Lighthouse, built on rocks in 1892 marks the northernmost point of Mallorca, also called “meeting the winds”.

Alcudia - Malpas - Bonaire
On the north of the island, we find the two bays which occupy this part of Mallorca, on one handside you find the bay of Pollensa and Formentor, the smallest of the two bays and the bay of Alcudia, the largest. The bay of Alcudia has two parts, one of which that leads to the North with views of the bay of Pollensa and Formentor, and the other part which leads South, with all of the bay of Alcudia, Muro beach, Can Picafort, and Colonia de Sant Pere. Further north you find the urbanizations of Malpas and Bonaire, with the well knock ‘crocodile’ marina. On the Southern area, you find the Alcanada golf course, with various holes practically over the sea. On this Peninsula we have more demand for luxury properties for non-residents due to the lack of excessive tourism.
The bay of Alcudia, offers an extensive beach which starts at the bay itself, and reaches Colonia de Sant Pere, and for this reason the gran majority of this area is mainly apartments and hotels. There are also areas less affected by mass tourism, and it is in these areas where we can find luxury villas with direct access to wonderful beaches.
