Summer mood on ice
Some people come to Mallorca just for a sundown. Those, who have a little more time at hand, can visit our 7 cocktail hotspots one after the other.
Nikki Beach, Calvià
The “Nikki Beach” club scores in Mallorca with its spectacular premises right by the turquoise blue sea at Magaluf. The guests are welcomed by oversized sun loungers by the pool, beauty treatment on the beach, a yacht-shuttle and international DJs at the turntables. On the upper floor you find “Nikki Privé”, an exclusive lounge for private parties.
Famous cocktail: Mojito
Clientele: exalted, international
Music: Electro, Funk, Chill-out
Beach club Gran Folie, Andratx
You can, but don’t necessarily have to become physically active, before you come to the beach club “Gran Folie” in Cala Llamp to attend the sundown. But the in-house pool on an overhanging rock is rather inviting. One floor higher up on the semicircular terrace, the ambiance is nearly as romantic, while you choose from an extensive cocktail and food menu.
Famous cocktail: Frozen Piña Colada
Clientele: Swedish, German, English
Agapanto, Port de Sòller
In the «Agapanto» at the beach called Playa d'en Repic you can even enjoy your cocktails with your feet in the sand. For a first drink you settle under one of the yellow umbrellas. For dinner you might want to choose the terrace of the restaurant, beautifully decorated with torches and candles. From here the view of the many lights in the harbour is even better.
Famous cocktail: Gimlet
Clientele: German, English and international
Music: latin, jazz, every now and then live music
Alcanada Terraza, Port d’Alcu?dia
In the chiringuito of “Alcanada Terraza” you are seated close to the bar and only a stone’s throw from the water - the best qualification to spend a long summer evening with delicious drinks and a subtle sea breeze. If you ask the waiter nicely, he will surely play your musical requests.
Famous cocktail: Strawberry Margarita
Clientele: Spanish and international
Music: calming lounge music
Cap Vermell Beach Hotel, Capdepera
Who says, that you have to wait until afternoon to order your first cocktail? In the Champagne-Lounge of the “Cap Vermell Beach-Hotel” in Canyamel the holiday mood is perceptible all day. For some intensive reading on one of the sun decks with direct access to the beach, a Cava with elderflower is recommendable - no matter at what hour.
Famous cocktail: Ernest Hemingway's Death in the Afternoon
Cliente: totally mixed, international
Pura Vida, Santanyí
In the beach club “Pura Vida” in Cala Figuera you are seated high above the rugged cliffs - literally at eye-level with the seagulls. From here you can enjoy the endless view of the sea with a Cava-Rosé of the house in your hand and a variety of tapas on your plate. And if the (full) moons happens to paint a shimmering alley way onto the water, bliss is perfect.
Famous cocktail: Caipirinha
Cliente: mixed, international
Sea Club, Cala Blava
Some places make you want to stay for over. Such for example the Cap Rocat, South of Palma. The former fortification by the sea has been turnt into a hotel. It does not necessarily have to be the reservation of one of their spectacular suites with terrace, but an absolute must it is to reserve a table here to watch the sun setting sitting in the outdoor restaurant “Sea Club” in the “King’s Bay”, overlooking the Bay of Palma.
Famous cocktail: Pink Daiquiri
Clientele: exalted, international
