Fira del Pebre Bord in Felanitx on 20 - 22 October 2017
Spice up your culinary life!
Every year Felanitx gets painted red, to celebrate the “Fira del Pebre Bord” (translating “Fair of the Paprika table”), which gets its name from the red and aromatic hulls, an important spice, which adds flavour to many dishes of the Majorcan cuisine. Among them Trempó, a colourful salad, Frito Mallorqui, which is a fry-up of different meats and vegetables and Sobrasada and Coca de pimiento asado, which is a quiche with fried red peppers to name but a few.
There are even demonstrations of how Sobrasada, a typical Majorcan cold meat, is being made. A delicacy, which you have surely been served before. Most delicious eaten with honey on Majorcan bread, by the way.
All weekend there will be many activities for people of all ages, such as a Pinxos & Tapas tour in the bars of Felanitx on Friday, the parade of the “gegants” (i. e. giants) and popular dances both Saturday and Sunday as well as many demonstrations and workshops, where you can learn about traditional handcrafts of stonemasons, basket makers, e. g. There will also be car shows of vehicles old and new. And for the little ones, there will be theatre for children and make-up sessions for them to look like pirates, etc.
Join the fun and get your supplies of spiciness!
The team of Mallorca Gold is wishing you a great weekend.
