This Friday the “Double Rose Window” light effect can be enjoyed at the Cathedral La Seu in Palma
Twice a year, the sun casts the largest rose window (multicolored panes of glass) of the Cathedral just below the smaller one, forming a figure of an eight.
It is known as “el Ocho” (the Eight) light show in which the reflection of one of the rose windows of La Seu can be seen on the wall under the other rose window, forming a magical light effect that looks like an 8.
This magical light effect is enjoyed every year by hundreds of people, both Majorcan and tourists. It only happens on 11/11 and 02/02 every year, so it can be enjoyed this Friday 11/11/16, between 08:00 and 09:00 am.
In addition to this effect, which can be seen for free inside the Cathedral, it can also be enjoyed outside, where it’s illuminated by the sun forming an explosion of colors.
